Oct. 18, a special day

Happy 5th Birthday to our sweet Ems. My, how you've changed...

It's easy to celebrate a little girl like Emma. She can light up a room with her smile, she's beyond beautiful, and she's determined to learn things no matter how hard they are for her (she wanted to learn how to snap her fingers...so she learns to snap. She wanted to learn how to do a headstand, so she has taught herself how to do it). She loves to cuddle, have quality time with her mom, and help sort laundry. Emma loves treats and I can assume within seconds of every meal she finishes, a treat will be requested...we have to have limits. ;)
Emma has a sense of humor unlike most 5 year olds I know, and can make anyone crack up with her silly faces. We don't realize all she pays attention to, but she is always always listening to adult conversations around her. :) She loves her cousin Ruby Jean and would give up playing with ANY toy to hold her. She also loves playing with Aunt Sarah's long hair...so they are always welcome in Emma's world. :) Emma wants to be brave but gets scared in movies that don't always make her feel safe. Emma Kay Rosie Snow...you light up our lives.
Birthday Breakfast with her two favorite people in the whole wide world...

Emma's little friend party...an afternoon she talked about for WEEKS before it happened. :)

Line of the Day

Goes to...
Ryan!!

While on a family walk tonight (beautiful fall day...totally the best season of the year), Ryan and I were talking about how tired we are. We both had hard runs today. I heard Ryan mumble this under his breath...

"Somebody just needs to put me in a hot tub on wheels."

I about peed my pants because I just pictured him lounging in a hot tub, and me pushing him down our street. Hilarious! If anyone would be able to get away with that, it would be my husband. He sure does love to sit in hot water. And then hey...he'd still be able to join the family time!!

On a different note, we were blown away and blessed like crazy today. We received a LARGE check in the mail, supporting our adoption, from good good friends. I literally stood at the mailbox with my mouth wide open. It was humbling and beyond beautiful. I just felt so loved by those pals, but also by God. He is providing; He will provide in this journey!
